Use Zulu Charcoal for Hot Braai Grilling. or under your Potjie or Potjiekos stewing Pot (pronounced poy-kee kos=food), it is a traditional South African three-legged cast-iron pot used for slow-cooking hearty stews (potjiekos) over open braai coals. It is a cornerstone of South African outdoor cooking, known for layering aromatics, meats, and vegetables and letting them simmer low and slow without stirring.
The #1 rule of cooking with a potjie pot is: DO NOT STIR THE POT. As a result of this method, all the ingredients cook perfectly, but are not overly tainted by each other, so you experience different flavours and textures with each mouthful.
